Domestic consumption has increased significantly with Filipinos being a heavy coffee drinker demographic.
A lot of farmland has been lost, but that’s since stabilized. In 2023, demand for coffee is now growing 14% each year. Due to domestic demand and improve productivity, the Philippines Department of Agriculture has provided it high-value crop status.
