Welcome to my field notes!

Field notes are notes I leave myself as I go through my day to day work. The hope is that other people will also find these notes useful. Note that these notes are unfiltered and unverified.

Analysis development (Parker [2017]) is a phrase that combines good engineering practice with data analysis to produce a community of practice that focuses on reproducibility, accuracy, and collaboration.

This was a core tenet that I tried to develop during my time at Uber. Typically, when teams start, they start out doing random data requests whose requirements are defined solely by the business. As the team develops, there comes a need to facilitate more knowledge management and collaboration.

During one of our team days, I developed these slides that described how one develops analysis and combines good engineering practice with it, with the goal of developing reproducible, consistent, and accurate analyses.
